Friday 16 June was an award winning night for the iFM Catering department, based at the Royal Bolton hospital.
The team attended the North West HCA (Hospital Caterers Association) Awards and were awarded North West Hospital Catering Team of the Year 2023.
The only way is up as they were also rated five stars following a recent food hygiene audit from Environmental Health.
The Catering department are responsible for ensuring that inpatients are supplied with healthy, nutritious meals throughout their stay in hospital.
Jason Waggett, iFM Catering Manager said:
We are extremely proud of the iFM Catering team! This is an absolute credit to the them and their work ethic, the whole team should be extremely proud of what they achieved. There have been many ups and downs in the last 24 months and the department has come a long way.
“We have so much more planned to improve the catering service further, but it is great to know that the team are receiving the recognition they deserved.
Working tirelessly as an integral support service within Bolton NHS Foundation Trust, the catering department have been through numerous changes in management and have overcome huge challenges during the pandemic.
The service they provide at the Royal Bolton is vitally important to the recovery and care of the patients.
