• Bolton’s finance team shortlisted as Health Team of the Year at the Public Finance Awards
•  The shortlist recognises the team’s success over past twelve months
• Winners will be revealed in London on Tuesday 28 November 2023

The finance team at Bolton NHS Foundation Trust have been shortlisted in the ‘Health Team of the Year’ category at this year’s Public Finance Awards.

The Awards recognise the people, products and services that demonstrate excellence and originality within public finance, with the finalists chosen by a panel of independent judges.

In the past twelve months, Bolton NHS Foundation Trust’s finance team has achieved success across a number of areas, despite a challenging year.

This includes:

• Delivering a record capital spend
• Achieving the highest level of national accreditation for NHS Finance Teams
• Improved staff survey scores
• Transforming how the finance team works to meet a significant increase in demand

Matthew Greene, Deputy Director of Finance at Bolton NHS Foundation Trust, said:

We are delighted to be shortlisted and as a team we feel incredibly proud of everything we have achieved in the past year.

“Our impact is felt across the Trust, including capital builds such as our Community Diagnostic Centre, which have supported from the initial idea through to a full business case for and approval from the national team.

“To have the team’s hard work recognised on a national stage is fantastic and it’s a great reminder that we continue to make a difference to the lives of people in Bolton.

Earlier this year the finance team were also named ‘Finance Team of the Year’ at the 2023 Healthcare Financial Management Association North West conference.

The winners of the 2023 Public Finance Awards will be revealed on Tuesday 28 November.
