Bolton NHS Foundation Trust is offering advice to patients and visitors about keeping personal belongings safe during a visit to Royal Bolton Hospital.
When preparing for a visit to hospital, please try to avoid bringing any valuables such as jewellery or large amounts of money.
If patients do bring valuables, they will be advised to hand them to staff for safekeeping, where they will be handed a receipt, or to leave them with a friend or relative to take home.
Nicola Caffrey, Corporate Business Manager at Bolton NHS Foundation Trust, said:
We know how much sentimental value jewellery can hold for some patients, and we want to make sure their belongings are well-looked after by either being left at home or safely looked after by staff.
“It’s really important that patients follow our advice as we are unable to accept responsibility for any loss or damage to personal property that isn’t handed to our staff for safe keeping.
“When a patient is admitted our staff are on hand to discuss with them and their families about the best way of looking after their belongings to make patients feel safe and comfortable during their visit.
