The winning designs for Bolton NHS Foundation Trust’s NHS 75 children’s artwork competition have been revealed as part of the organisation’s celebrations for the historic milestone.
Primary school-aged children across Bolton sent in more than 150 entries to say ‘thank you’ to the NHS and the thousands of staff in Bolton who provide care to the town’s communities.
Designs included landscape paintings of Royal Bolton Hospital, portraits of some of our nursing staff, and picture collages of what the NHS means to Bolton’s young people.
The competition was so tough that judges were unable to settle on only one winner and after careful consideration chose six winners to have their incredible designs displayed at the hospital for people to enjoy for years to come.

We were blown away by the creativity and quality of the designs and it made for an emotional day when it came to judging the entries.
“All of the children did a really special job of capturing what the NHS means to them and their loved ones and capturing the special part our staff play in the lives of so many.
“The winning pieces will feature pride of place at Royal Bolton Hospital, becoming a part of history for years to come when installed later this year.
