Staff working in Royal Bolton Hospital’s Emergency Department are asking people to share their experiences of end of life care.
A Patient Forum is being held on Thursday 27 March 2025 for people to sit down with staff in a safe environment to provide feedback about what went well and what could be better.
The sessions aim to help make sure doctors and nurses are able to deliver the best care possible to patients and provide support to their families and loved ones.
Dr. Francis Andrews, Medical Director and Consultant in Emergency Medicine at Bolton NHS Foundation Trust, said:
We know the passing of a loved one in any hospital setting is very upsetting, and we want to make sure we’re providing the very best care and support during that time.
“We’re asking people to join us so we can understand what is most important for family and friends when someone they love is receiving end of life care so that we can learn and improve.
“We appreciate this can be a difficult conversation. Our staff will be creating a safe and comfortable space and will make sure people have the time and space that they need to talk about their experiences.
The session will take place 10am – 12pm on Thursday 27 March 2025 in the Emergency Department seminar room.
